Kurt Jackson: RNLI Exhibition Now Open

By 19th March 2023 May 3rd, 2023 Exhibition

Kurt Jackson celebrates the lifesaving efforts of the RNLI through an ambitious new series of paintings, installation and mixed media work.

RNLI Cornwall, which has just opened at the Jackson Foundation gallery, St Just, Cornwall features over 75 paintings varying in scale – from postcard sized pieces to large canvasses measured in metres – that capture the familiar sight of the charity’s blue and orange lifeboats nestled into Cornish harbours and coastlines, as well as the lifeguards at the centre of Cornish beaches culture.

A selection of the paintings is of the old Penlee lifeboat station which Kurt has captured as it was left after the disaster that claimed sixteen lives in 1981. A loss still felt today. A poignant reminder of the sacrifice made.

For the duration of this exhibition, the Jackson Foundation will be holding a prize draw to win a Kurt Jackson painting worth £3,500, with each ticket purchased equalling one entry and the winner randomly selected at the exhibition’s conclusion.

100% of the proceeds from the prize draw will be donated to support the RNLI.
